It was established by type designers Amond\u00f3 Szegi and G\u00e1bor K\u00f3thay, whose early collaboration shaped the foundry&#8217;s direction and ambition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-&#091;1.7&#093;\">Led since by Amond\u00f3 Szegi, Fontanatype has spent over 25 years building typefaces that carry history without being trapped by it. Its work spans the full range of type practice: historically informed text families, display and experimental designs, and typefaces developed for editorial, cultural, and identity projects worldwide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-&#091;1.7&#093;\">The foundry&#8217;s back catalogue includes typefaces distributed through <strong>T-26<\/strong>, <strong>P22\/IHOF<\/strong>, and <strong>The Type Foundry<\/strong> \u2014 among them designs that became quite classics: <em>Telegdi<\/em>, <em>Mantra<\/em>, <em>Nexodus<\/em>, and others. These remain part of the Fontanatype identity, alongside newer and more experimental work that continues to test the boundaries of what a typeface can be. <em>Sorry<\/em> \u2014 an experimental typeface that became the creative spark behind <strong>Blendraw<\/strong>, a drawing and skill-development app created with Imre Sz\u00f6gi, which also had a physical tablet version \u2014 is one example of how Fontanatype&#8217;s work extends beyond the world of type.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-&#091;1.7&#093;\">Amond\u00f3 teaches type design at the <strong>Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME)<\/strong> and\u00a0 <strong>KREA<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>Design School<\/strong> in Budapest.
