Jolán Simon, the woman who introduced Lajos Kassák to the world. His life was full of self-sacrifice and a series of resignations with Kassák, who kept lovers by his side. At the age of fifty, he published the volume “A Gift for the Woman”, whose poems were not addressed to his wife. Jolán was broken. 1938. on September 25, he drank a bottle of brandy in the kitchen of their apartment, then turned on the gas tap on himself. Kassák could never process his wife’s death.
